Start with Facebook and Twitter. You’ll find many video tutorials on Youtube that will help you set up your profiles and accounts. Once you setup your accounts start ‘liking’ and ‘following’ other marketers and people who are in your niche. Take note of what type of content they’re posting and sharing. Start sharing your own content when it’s posted on your site. Other good sites are LinkedIn, Pinterest, Reddit, and Instagram. Pay attention to what kind of people frequent each social media channel. Are they your targeted visitor? If not, where do they hang out?

I’m wondering, though, if you could share your insights on how influencers manage to build such vast followings. At some point, they had to start without the support of other influencers. Personally I avoid pop-up boxes since they upset so many people and they’re also so 1990. I believe you never want to start your relationship with your subscribers by pissing them off. But if you disagree you’re welcome to test pop-ups on your site if you like to. Speaking of testing, I highly recommend you test several different opt-in forms on your site and keep track of which one converts at the highest rate. Be sure to check what kind of customer support you can expect from your affiliate program once you have signed up. Do your research online and if possible, speak to other sellers using the program to get their thoughts. Can you speak to someone via phone or Skype or do you have to wait 72 hours for email responses? Be clear on this because trust me, you will need support at one point or another.
